Inside Michigan Politics, the bi-weekly hard copy (later online) newsletter founded in 1987 and published for 27 years by William S. (Bill) Ballenger before he sold it, has been returned to him, facilitated by East Lansing attorney Mark Grebner.
Dormant since 2018 after two owners over some five years, Bill Ballenger once again owns the rights and the name. Such interest includes the name “Inside Michigan Politics” in print, on the internet, or in any other forum.
What’s next for IMP?

Congratulations Bill!
How about “the Ballenger Report”: and INSIDE MICHIGAN POLITICS PUBLICATION
Sounds good, though doing IMP as some sort of podcast or audio thingy would be interesting.
I congratulate you. IMP- I read every Edition when I was a State Rep.
Many people, all across Michigan, deeply appreciate your insight, analysis and WISE ADVICE.
BILL BALLENGER- YOU ARE MICHIGAN’S NO. 1 POLITICAL PUNDIT.
WE CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH. SINCERELY, JOHN STEWART
Congrats Bill! The more things change, the more they stay the same (or go back to the way they were), or even better?
Good for you Bill!.

I incorporated a non profit in Vermont the CANUSA PROJECT INC a year ago.
The purpose is to question people all across Canada and the USA especially those near the border to see if they would like to petition both governments to consider possibly establishing a Schengen like area between them.
When we got some donations we could hire someone to do social media querying and ask for donations to support the idea.
Soon I will have a bank a/c for the donations to go.
Nice to see you at L’ville a few years ago.
Congrats!
Very happy about this. Miss the old blue sheet. Will it be print or electronic only?
Congratulations Mr Ballenger
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Great news! IMP was not the same without you.
IMP is back where it belongs. Maybe the return of the audio/podcast thingy you used to do with Dennis Denno or someone else?
Congratulations, look forward to great insight
How about that! It was always widely respected by both parties.
My first comment ever!
So glad to hear this Bill. I first started reading IMP when I was a new county commissioner in 2009 as we had a subscription via our county clerk. When he left office and it wasn’t renewed, I purchased my own. a real thrill for me was my one time mention in it while I was running for the 58th district in 2014,
Congratulations!
This is certainly Great News! What’s next for IMP? Simple; just pick up where you left off…..full speed ahead, and may you have many more years of Clear Sailing!!
Congratulations, Bill. This is good for the state. Very much looking forward to reading IMP again.
And I must add that Mark Grebner is a true gentleman.
Great News. Please consider adding a monthly Podcast as well. Congratulations !
I appreciate how you can dissect the chaos, Bill! I’m looking forward to your words. Congratulations!
Bill. Any place to look up or at old IMPs? Archive of some kind?
