Thank you for visiting! You have let us know that what we produce about Michigan politics and government matters to you. More people than ever are reading and listening to what we put on our news site, and the 2022 election was especially momentous. Your support makes all the difference.
As you know, unlike many news websites, we haven’t put up a paywall. We want to keep our journalism as open as we can, but we need to ask for your help. We are editorially independent, meaning we set our own agenda. Our journalism remains truly free from commercial influence or bias. We are not subsidized. We don’t put up paid advertisements. No one edits our Editor. No one steers our opinion.
But The Ballenger Report (TBR) takes time, money and hard work to produce. If everyone who reads or listens to our material — and likes it! — helps to support it, our future would be much more secure.
Whatever you might want to contribute will help TBR continue. Thank you.
Merry Christmas Bill to you and family and a better 2021.

Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year Bill
Hey Bill….this was a particularly tough year for you with the loss of Susan, and we can only hope you are on the mend and can look forward to a better 2022. Not being “woke”, I can say Merry Christmas and a Happier New Year to you…..the other BB in Idaho
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (From one of your liberal Democrat readers).
Yes, it has been a lousy year for you and so many others, but I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a much better New Year to compensate.
Your work and thoughts make us vastly more informed than we would be without the Ballenger Report. Your friendship and courtesy are part of the Ballenger character. Keep things going, especially since we’re in such confusing times. Polemics is a poor substitute for rational discussion, so that is why I love getting your newsletter and commentary.
2022 looks to be a “breakthrough year” in so many ways, positive or negative. I hope the former.
Best from our family. Hope to see you in the summer over here.
John
I miss your printed Christmas Cards. They were always so funny.

I’m another old battered Commie journalist who doesn’t always agree with Bill — but knows he is a fountain of knowledge and that smart observers always want to know what he says.
Merry Christmas Bill. So much enjoy your Ballenger report.; Your insight and knowledge on the political process. And most of all your friendship. Best to you in the new year. Bill and Veronica Long

All the best for the season and the new year to the best political observer in Michigan
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Bill! I first became acquainted with you while watching Off The Record (a habit started in 1979), and deeply appreciate the time, effort, and energy you put into analyzing Local and National political trends. Not to mention giving us this forum to further comment on them. And with another two years of Dementia Joe in office, along with another four years of the three (w)itches right here in Michigan, there should be a wealth of review and commentary for 2023!!
You have enlightened Us to a very high standard ,Mr. Ballenger . Have a great Christmas Season!
